963 cottage industries with capital of Rs 1.62 billion registered in Parsa

Birgunj. A total of 963 new cottage industries were registered in Parsa in the last fiscal year with the investment of Rs 1.62 billion.

The domestic industries registered in the last fiscal year had a fixed capital of Rs 1.77 billion. Similarly, the current capital of the current bank stood at Rs 67.44 crore.

Pawan Panjiyar, chief industry officer at the Office of Cottage and Small Industry, Birgunj, said that 963 cottage industries were registered in the last fiscal year that would create employment for 2,898 people.

“The number of entrepreneurs registering cottage industries is increasing in Parsa district. The domestic industries registered in the last fiscal year provided employment to 1,737 males and 1,161 females,” he informed.

A total of 218 new industries were registered in the district in the last fiscal year, according to the office. The total capital of these industries stands at Rs 43.82 crore. A total of 144 industries have been registered under the agriculture and forestry sector with a total capital of Rs 393.5 crore, Panjiyar said.

According to him, 75 new industries with a total capital of Rs 103.3 million towards construction, Rs 22.3 million for tourism industry and Rs 668.82 million for service sectors have been registered.
