Kathmandu. The incessant rains since October 3 and the subsequent floods and landslides have claimed Rs 3.26 billion to the insurance company.
According to the Insurance Authority, 704 claims have been filed by the insurance company after floods and landslides. Shikhar Insurance has the highest amount in the claim. Shikhar has received a claim of Rs 60.94 crore for 54 insurances.
Siddhartha Premiere has claimed Rs 50.64 crore, NLG Rs 50.47 crore, Himalayan Everest Rs 37.05 crore, National Rs 29.49 crore and The Oriental Rs 20.77 crore.
According to NEA, IGI Prudential has received Rs 16.95 crore, United Ajod Rs 12.56 crore, Neco Rs 12.10 crore, Sagarmatha Lumbini Rs 120.9 crore, Prabhu Rs 10.46 crore, Nepal Insurance Rs 10.18 crore, Sanima GIC Rs 2.85 crore, Trust Micro Rs 8 lakh and Star Micro Rs 8 lakh.
According to NEA, 364 claims have been made for property insurance, Rs 480.4 million for 87 claims for engineering and contractor risk insurance and Rs 43.2 million for 209 claims for agriculture and crop insurance.
Similarly, 25.2 million claims for 33 claims under motor insurance (private), Rs 10.5 million for 9 claims for public motor insurance and 2 claims for other insurance claims? A claim of Rs 12 lakh has been filed.
