WASHINGTON. Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal held a meeting with President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam today.
Khanal, who is in the US to attend the annual meeting of the World Bank Group, held a meeting with President Thurman on the sidelines. On the occasion, Minister Khanal said that matters relating to political development and economic priorities of Nepal were discussed.
During the meeting, President Tharman urged the Chinese President to pay attention to five major issues for achieving economic prosperity at a rapid pace, according to the embassy here. President Tharman said that rapid development could be achieved through human capital, infrastructure, energy, trade and openness.
Finance Minister Khanal discusses with representatives of International Finance Corporation
Finance Minister Khanal had a meeting with Acting Regional Vice President of International Finance Corporation (IFC) Alan Farlemu today. Various economic issues including partnership with IFC and support for the growth of Nepal’s private sector were discussed during the meeting, according to the Nepali Embassy in the DC.
Also present on the occasion were Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Dr Bishwanath Poudel, representatives of the Embassy, officials of the Ministry of Finance and IFC representatives.
