Kathmandu. All 6 floodlight towers of the under-construction international standard cricket ground have been erected at the Tribhuvan University (TU) campus, Kirtipur. The construction of all 6 poles has been completed after the construction company lifted two poles in a single day on Sunday.

Six 30-ton high-mast lights each of 45 meters and 60 meters high have been installed in the stadium. Floodlights on pole nos. 1, 4, 5 and 6 have been partially installed. Project chief Chakraborty Kantha said that the work of installing lights in two poles will begin now.

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Kulman Ghising inspected the under-construction international standard cricket ground on October 7.

Both contractors had promised to install parapets and floodlights before the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The contractor has already completed the construction of the parapet. The NPL is starting from November 1.

The government has endorsed the master plan and decided to start the construction of the second phase for the expansion of the stadium. The meeting of the Council of Ministers on October 30 approved the master plan of the stadium on the proposal of the Ministry of Urban Development and determined the national priority for the project. The government had allocated Rs 10 billion for the construction of the stadium as per the master plan and decided to forward the second phase of the construction.
