Department grants permission for construction of three transmission lines

Kathmandu. The government has so far granted permission for the construction of three transmission lines in the current fiscal year.

The Department of Electricity Development under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has granted permission for the construction of Nalgad-maintada transmission line. The transmission line is 75 kilometers long.

According to the Department, the transmission line with the capacity of 400 KV will transmit 2,400 MW of electricity. The National Transmission Grid Company is constructing the transmission line.

Likewise, permission has been given for the construction of 33 KV Khorungakhola transmission line. The length of the transmission line is 4.38 kilometres. The transmission line supplies 4.8 MW of electricity. The transmission line is going to be constructed to connect the electricity generated from the hydropower project to the national grid.

Similarly, Super Saradi Khola Hydropower Company is constructing a 3.68-kilometer-long transmission line with a capacity of 33 KV to connect it to the electricity system. The transmission line will generate 2.9 MW of electricity.

The Department has so far issued license for the construction of 274 small and large transmission lines. Likewise, survey permission has been granted for the construction of eight transmission lines so far in the current fiscal year. The 132 KV capacity of the Central Chameliya Project is located in the middle of the project.

Other projects included Beldia Solar Power Project, Phalekhu Khola 132 KV Transmission Line, Janaki Solar Power Transmission Line, Dudhkoshi 5 220 KV Transmission Line and Samundratar Lapsephedi 232 KV Transmission Line.

Likewise, Dadakhet Burtibang 132 KV Transmission Line and Sani Bheri 132 KV Transmission Line projects are also underway. The Department has so far granted survey permission for the construction of a total of 144 transmission lines.

Similarly, the Department has so far received applications for 21 transmission lines for the survey license. So far in the current fiscal year, 11 projects have applied for approval.
