Damauli. The community forest groups of Tanahu have earned Rs 84.3 million by selling forest products. In the fiscal year 2081/82, the community forest in the district has been able to earn the amount by selling forest products.

Information Officer and Forest Officer at Division Forest Office, Tanahu, Raj Kumar Shrestha said the community forest produced 83,513.45 cubic feet forest produce. According to Shrestha, 40,331.95 cubic feet sal, 41,1380 cubic feet mulberry and 2,911.86 other forest products were sold. Similarly, 50.15 percent of firewood was sold in the same period.

Of the total area of the district, around 72,080 hectares is covered by forest. There are 616 community forests and 4485 community forests in the district.

A total of Rs 120,04,986 revenue was collected from the sale of forest products. Among the private population, 51,454.75 cubic feet of forest produce has been sold. According to Information Officer Shrestha, 43,324.8 cubic feet of khayar, 9,130.67 cubic feet of other and 86.15 metric tons of firewood were sold.
