Jumla. The Road Division Office, Jumla, has forwarded the process to scrap the contract of five sick people along the Karnali Highway. The Office has initiated legal process to terminate five contracts of the highway that have been in limbo for a long time.
The Jumla Road Division Office has issued a public notice to the contractors concerned to furlough five contracts including four in Kalikot and one on the Nagma-Gamgadi road section in Mugu.
Clarifying that the notice was issued to cancel the contract as per the agreement, Engineer Singh said that the contractors failing to complete the works after getting the contract as per the prevailing rules would be taken legal action including forfeiture of surety.
Singh said that five contracts were signed under the jurisdiction of the Road Division Office Jumla from fiscal year 2075÷76 to 2079÷80.
Chief of the Road Division Office, Jumla, Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary, said that the government has called for the official persons to be present at the office through a public notice stating that the revised work schedule could be completed within 15 days of the publication of the notice, reliable plan of mobilization of resources and commitment to complete the works as well as if there is any valid reason not to annul the contract.
According to the Road Division Office, if the work is not started within the stipulated time, it will be blacklisted, the deposit and deposit will be forfeited and the remaining expenses will be recovered as government dues.
Earlier, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising had directed subordinate bodies to end the tendency of taking tenders but not carrying out works and delaying projects.
