NEPSE employees call off strike for 37th day

Kathmandu. Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) has withdrawn its employees from the 37th day of its release. The NEPSE Employees Union had been agitating for the past 737 days.

The employees have been protesting demanding 5 percent bonus as per the Labour Court. KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court challenging the government’s decision to comply with the Bonus Act.

The agitation was called off after the Supreme Court summoned the opposition parties for discussion within 15 days. Association President Nawaraj Thapa said he has received the Supreme Court’s letter on Tuesday. The protest was called off after the Supreme Court’s letter. According to him, the agitation was called off after the case was sub-judice in the court.

The two sides will hold discussions on the writ petition filed by the NEPSE management at the Supreme Court on October 11. After the employees called off the strike, CEO Chudamani Chapagain has been present at the office.

The agitating employees had protested against CI and Chairman Hemanta Basyal by making various allegations. They demanded the resignation of the chairman and CEO and the search for the missing chairman and CEO.
