Kathmandu directs to vacate encroached land and structures violating standards within 7 days

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley Development Authority (KVDA) and Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) have issued a 7-day directive to vacate the encroached public land and structures violating the standard.

Issuing a joint notice, both the bodies issued a joint notice stating that the construction of building-related structures should not be constructed contrary to Chapter 7 and Clause 45 of the Local Government Operation Act-2074 BS and as per Clause 97 of the Act, the local level has the responsibility and responsibility of protecting and managing the public land and property.

The notice states that such public places within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) area and border districts would be vacated if the encroached structures were not removed. It is also said that the general public can provide information about such places and structures.
