Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued a mandamus order to release former banker Kamal Prasad Gyawali, who has been in jail for the past seven years.
Gyawali’s wife Gauri Khanal had filed a habeas corpus petition at the Supreme Court. A division bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Abdul Aziz Muslim issued the order on Monday.
The commercial bench under the High Court Patan had in September 2073 sentenced Gyawali and his wife Gauri to jail and fine on the charge of loan misappropriation.
