Bhojpur. The construction of a concrete bridge over the Arun River at Lamsuwaghat that connects Bhojpur and Sankhuwasabha from the northern part of the country has been in limbo after spending around Rs 40 million. The bridge was started in 2067 BS and remained incomplete for the past 15 years. The locals, who were hoping for the construction of the bridge, are now disappointed.
According to Suman Bisunke, chairperson of Shadananda-6 in Bhojpur, the construction of the bridge has been in limbo after the federal government spent around Rs 40 million. The construction of the bridge has been in limbo after the base of six pillars was laid.
“The construction of the Lamsuwaghat bridge has been in limbo for a long time. We locals have been hoping to build the bridge for the last 15 years. ’
A 72-metre-long concrete bridge was constructed here. A local Bhaktaraj Bishwakarma complained that the state was not serious about completing the bridge. According to him, there is a problem in the movement due to lack of concrete bridge.
“The state has neglected the construction of the bridge. We are compelled to watch this bridge in disarray. The state needs to pay attention to such issues. The government was not serious about the construction of this bridge. ’
The construction company had started the construction of the bridge in 2067 BS and as per the agreement, the bridge was supposed to be completed by 2070 BS. Locals are confused as to why the construction of the bridge has been delayed.
