Bangladesh’s dairy farmers in Chitwan

Chitwan. Dairy farmers from Bangladesh have come here to learn about the production, processing and marketing of milk in the district. A 17-member team led by Manrup Islam, a dairy farmer from Bangladesh, is to visit dairy cooperatives and cow farms in the district today. On Monday, they held discussions with the District Milk Producers’ Cooperatives Association about the situation and milk production in the district.

According to Kishor Bagale of the Association, Chitwan, they enquired about the situation of milk production, distribution system and the condition of dairy farmers. “We exchanged knowledge on how farmers of the two countries have been producing milk and how it is being marketed,” he said. On the occasion, President Bagale informed about the good animal husbandry practices in the district and the process of bringing in improved breed of cows.

On the occasion, the Bangladeshi team informed the meeting about the progress made in milk production, processing and distribution. The team will also study in Nawalparasi today and return to Kathmandu on Wednesday.
