Rural municipality urges government to remove houses and huts not meeting road standards

Gulmi. Ruruchetra Rural Municipality has requested the people concerned to remove the structures and structures that fall short of the road standard in order to make the road up-gradation smooth and effective.

The Madan Bhandari Highway Project Office had written to the rural municipality to remove the construction of the road, citing that houses, huts, shops and other structures that fall within the road standard have been obstructing the road construction.

Based on the same correspondence, a notice has been issued to remove the structures such as Ridi Bazaar of Ruruchetra Rural Municipality-1, Panitanki area of Ward No. 3 and Aampokhara and Baletaksar bazaar areas under Ward No. 4.

Chief Administrative Officer of the rural municipality, Laxman Pandey, said that the locals have been urged to cooperate in the construction works citing the possibility of delay in providing compensation. On March 10, 2022, Parallel-Elite JV Kathmandu was upgrading the road at a cost of Rs 1.5 billion.

Humnath Poudel, information officer and engineer at Madan Bhandari Highway Project Office, Gulmi, said that the 25-km road section from Ridi of Ruruchetra rural municipality to Runkhadaha of Gulmi Durbar Rural Municipality would be blacktopped by mid-March.
