Kathmandu. Immediately after the suspension of the agitation of the employees at the Securities Board of Nepal for more than one and a half months, the employees have given a 5-point clarification with another strong agitation.
In a joint press release, Nepal Board Independent Employees Association and Securities Board of Nepal Employees Union said that if the commitments made with the employees are not implemented by mid-November, the employees’ unions will continue the agitation and move ahead in a stronger way.
The employees had been agitating for one and a half months disagreeing with the decision of the Ministry of Finance (Revenue Secretary) on September 14 and the letter dated September 15 to scrap the working procedure related to the ÷service and facilities of the employees, to return the services and facilities received as an employee in the past and to take the consent of the Ministry of Finance on the issue of creating financial liability for the board.
The union has given a 5-point clarification along with further agitation to further clarify about the agitation started by the employees.
A joint statement issued by the union stated that the Ministry of Finance is ready to address the demands raised by the employees in the talks held between the Ministry of Finance and the Employees Union÷Organizations active in the Securities Board of Nepal.
The Finance Ministry and the Board of Directors will not implement the inhuman provision of cutting down on the services ÷and facilities received by the employees and returning the facilities received in the past like government dues.
Until the current uncomfortable situation is fully resolved from the Ministry of Finance, the employees will move forward by changing the form of the agitation that started 48 days ago and will continue the one-hour sit-in program every day.
The Ministry of Finance will address the demands of the employees by mid-November and approve the Board’s Employee Service Conditions Regulations with necessary amendments. If the commitments made to the employees are not implemented by mid-November, the employees’ unions will continue the agitation and move ahead in a more vigorous manner, the statement said.
