Solukhumbu. Kathmandu: A safe route for climbing the world’s highest peak Mt Everest is to be opened by mid-April. Sir Edmund Hillary of New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa of Nepal used Mt Noopse in 1953 for the first time, 80 percent of the construction of the route from Mt Nupse has been completed, according to the Department of Tourism.

The first risk while climbing Everest is in the Khumbu Icefall. Everest summiteer Bijay Ghimire said that they have to take a lot of risk here as the snow keeps melting and cracking. According to him, the new route will be useful and less risky as it crosses the Khumbu Icefall from the foothills of Nupse.
