Kathmandu. Genji Movement Nepal has

signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Energy Minister Kulman Ghising and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Manoj Silwal.

They have demanded immediate dismissal.

Minister Ghising and Managing Director Silwal have demanded his immediate dismissal, accusing them of signing power purchase agreement in a setting. Issuing a statement, the spokesperson of the movement, Bijay Shah, demanded his dismissal.

“The agreement was signed with an Indian company PTC India with a loss of Rs 430 million without the approval of the Electricity Regulatory Commission,” reads the statement. This act is a direct corruption and sale of national interest,” the statement said.

The agitation demands immediate sacking of Energy Minister Kulman Ghising and filing a case at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). Manoj Silwal, Managing Director of NEA, should be immediately suspended and an investigation should be initiated under the Money Laundering Act.

They have demanded that the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) should form an independent probe committee to make all the electricity agreements public and immediately initiate legal process to jail those involved in the treasonous agreement and return the state property.
