Kathmandu. NIC Asia Bank has requested its customers to update their Permanent Account Number (PAN) and email address in their accounts.
As the details of tax deducted from the bank’s accounts are required to be linked to the Permanent Account Number System issued by the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Finance, Inland Revenue Department as per the Income Tax Act, 2058 BS, customers can update their PAN as soon as possible by tapping on the option of ‘PAN Number Updated’ on the bank’s portal panupdate.nicasiabank.com or mobile banking app.
In addition, the customers can apply for PAN update in their account from any branch office of the bank convenient to them.
PAN is mandatory for showing the tax deducted from the bank on the interest payment to the depositor in the e-TDS record. After the PAN is updated, their tax deduction details will be entered in the e-TDS PAN, so the income tax system automatically adjusts the tax deduction details in Schedule 10.
The bank believes that this will make it easier for the customers to get tax deduction certificate and tax clearance certificate and will not only eliminate the need to visit the bank to get the tax clearance certificate. The bank also informs all the customers that the bank will not be responsible in case the interest is not deposited in e-TDS due to non-updating of PAN and further adjustment in interest tax after that.
In addition, customers of Yes Bank are requested to update their email address in their account. The bank’s customers will be able to update their email address as soon as possible by tapping on the bank’s Video KYC https://www.nicasiabank.com/video-kyc/ or ‘My Profile’ in mobile banking app, selecting Change email option. Arrangements have been made for the customers to apply to update their email address in their account from any branch office of the bank convenient to them.
Also, the bank is requested to contact the nearest branch office of the bank if the details of tax deduction are not included or the email address is not updated even after providing PAN to the bank earlier.
