Upgradation of Paraspur-Gaughat road in full swing

Banke. The upgradation of the Paraspur-Gaughat road, which frequents the people of Banke and Bardiya districts, has gained momentum.

Information Officer of Road Division Nepalgunj, Engineer Ram Sagar Harijan, said that the upgradation of the Paraspur-Gaughat road section is taking place at present. “The Road Division Office has expedited the construction work after pressure exerted pressure on the contractor to delay in the work time and again”, he said, adding, “The construction work has been carried out now and 75 per cent of the work has been completed so far.” ’

According to him, the road from Ganeshman Chowk to Rimjhim Chowk of Nepalgunj has been blacktopped. The road from Rimjhim Chowk to Gaughat is being blacktopped. Mainly people from Banke and Bardiya districts commute this road.

An agreement was signed with a contractor for blacktopping the 14-km road from Paraspur to Gaughat in Nepalgunj at a cost of Rs 140 million. Bhim Oli, a leader of Khajura Rural Municipality, said that the people of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Janaki, Khajura and Bardiya Badhaiyatal Rural Municipalities will use the road section daily.

According to him, the people of Khajura have been pressuring the local people’s representatives and the Road Division Office to complete the road construction work soon. The construction company has expedited the work after continuous warning and pressure from the locals.
