Kathmandu. A tender has been called for upgrading the road leading to the headworks of the Melamchi Water Supply Project on Wednesday.

The Road Division Office, Charikot on Wednesday called for tender in course of the agreement reached between the Ministry of Water Supply and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising. The tender for the upgradation of 17 kilometers of the Melamchi-Ambathan-Melamchi Ghyang road section was divided into three packages.

Locals had agreed to bring the water from the Melamchi Khela River to Kathmandu Valley through a tunnel since November 20 after signing various agreements including road construction.
