Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Industrial credit disbursed by banks and financial institutions has decreased in Gandaki Province. In the review period, credit from banks and financial institutions to the industrial sector decreased by 9.99 percent to Rs 27.91 billion as of mid-July 2018. In the last few years, due to the problems seen in the economy, the credit to this sector has decreased.
According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, banks and financial institutions (BFIs) had disbursed Rs 31.01 billion in industrial loans as of mid-July of the last fiscal year. The share of industrial credit in the total loan disbursed in Gandaki Province is 7.82 percent.
The highest number of industrial loans in the province has gone under sub-heading. According to the NRB, Rs 8.33 billion has been disbursed under this head. Similarly, Rs 8.20 billion has been disbursed under the sub-heading of non-food items and Rs 7.61 billion under the sub-heading of agro-forestry and beverage production.
Similarly, Rs 2.88 billion has been invested under the sub-heading of metal production, machinery and electronic production, Rs 540 million under the sub-heading of electricity, gas and water production and Rs 320 million under the sub-heading of mining production.
