Kathmandu. Industrialists who have paid the first tranche of trunk and dedicated tariff have demanded the revival of the review committee. Issuing a press release, the aggrieved and harassed groups drew the attention of Prime Minister Sushila Karki to the fact that the Ministry of Energy and Nepal Electricity Authority have not taken any initiative to revive the review process.

Earlier, the Board of Directors of NEA had scrapped the process of going for review on September 23, 2082 and the process of revival should be materialized at the initiative of Prime Minister Karki, said industrialists. On September 23, 2002, the Board of Directors of NEA re-decided and scrapped the ongoing review process. Although the initiative of Prime Minister Sushila Karki to revive the review process which was illegally scrapped by the NEA Board of Directors is commendable, it has not materialized. We request the Prime Minister to revive the committee,” the industrialists said.

The industrialists have been demanding this for a long time but no heed has been paid to them from the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the Ministry of Energy. He said that the review committee has not yet revived even though the first tranche of the arrears has been submitted as deposit. So far, the Administrative Review Committee has not been revived. We paid the amount as bail after the honorable Prime Minister promised to revive the Administrative Review Committee. However, we would like to inform the Prime Minister that the Ministry of Energy and the subordinate authority have not initiated the process in this regard so far,” the industrialists said.

The industrialists have accused the NEA of trying to charge additional tariff for the electricity they have not burned, saying that they have not been poisoned. However, Prime Minister Karki said that they have already paid the bail amount after Prime Minister Karki expressed his commitment to settle the justice through the Administrative Review Committee.
