Remittance inflow rises by 35.4 per cent to Rs 550 billion in three months

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The inflow of remittances has increased in Nepal in the first three months of the current fiscal year. The remittance inflow has increased by 35.4 per cent to Rs 553.31 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The remittance inflow had grown by 11.9 per cent in the same period last year.

The remittance inflow for the month of September stood at Rs 201.22 billion. The remittance inflow in the same month of the previous year had reached Rs. 144.17 billion. The remittance inflow in US Dollars increased by 29.2 per cent to reach Rs 3.94 billion in the review period. It had grown by 10.6 percent in the same period last year.

Net second income (net transfer) in the review period stood at Rs 610.61 billion. Such income had been Rs. 443.76 billion in the same period of the previous year. Number of Nepalis acquiring final labour permit (institutional or personal – new) for foreign employment in the review period stood at 123,459 while 77,257 re-labour permit were taken in the review period. Such cases were 110,654 and 59,939 respectively in the corresponding period of the previous year.
