Stock market rises 9.78 points, trading volume improves

Kathmandu. The stock market rose on Monday, the second trading day of the week. On Monday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 9.78 points to close at 1,550.36 points. Today, the sensitive index has increased by 1.43 points, while the float index has increased by 0.71 points and the sensitive float index has increased by 0.47 points.

Along with the stock market, the trading volume has also increased normally. Shares worth Rs 3.94 billion were traded in the market today against Rs 3.89 billion.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of 11 sub-groups have increased while the indices of other sub-groups have fallen. On this day, the index of the development bank sub-group increased the most by 1.50 percent. The hotel and tourism sub-group index increased by more than 1 percent today. The indices of non-life insurance and other sub-groups decreased on Monday.

Share prices of 4 companies traded at positive circuit level today. Shares of Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism, Sagar Distillery, Bungal Hydro and Jhapa Energy were traded in the positive circuit level today. Similarly, the share price of Green Development Bank has increased by 9 percent and Joshi Hydropower has increased by 8 percent. The share price of Geography Energy Development Company was the biggest loser by 9.99 percent.

On the basis of transaction amount, Sahasa Energy is at the top of the list. The company’s shares worth Rs 18.36 crore were traded on the day. Similarly, shares worth Rs 165 million were traded while the turnover of Shivam Cements crossed Rs 160 million.
