Construction Business Development Council donates Rs 10 million to physical reconstruction fund

Kathmandu. The Construction Business Development Council has contributed one crore rupees to the fund established for the reconstruction, economic revival, relief and rehabilitation of physical structures damaged by the Jenji movement.

The amount was deposited in the Physical Reconstruction Fund from the Contractors’ Fund under the Council. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kul Man Ghising, who is also the chairman of the Council, handed over the cheque to Gopal Prasad Sigdel, secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development. A total of Rs 7.54 crore has been deposited in the fund.

A committee headed by the Finance Minister has been formed to make the reconstruction of public and government physical infrastructures systematic and effective.

A meeting of the committee held a few days ago had decided to spend the amount collected in the fund to prepare a detailed engineering design of the damaged public infrastructures and prepare a report on the reconstruction, to immediately repair and restore the public infrastructures and to rebuild the services.
