Persa. Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 75.58 billion revenue in the first four months of the current fiscal year.
The Department of Customs has set a target of collecting Rs 89.24 billion in revenue in the first four months of the current fiscal year, but only 85 per cent of the target has been collected so far.
Though the revenue collection in July, September and September of the current fiscal year was encouraging, the revenue collection in the month of October was not encouraging.
Bishnu Prasad Gyawali, chief customs administrator at the Birgunj Customs Office, said that the revenue collection could not meet the target due to the Jenji agitation, Chhath festival and floods in November.
“The revenue collection target was towards the target of Rs 23.63 billion in the first three months of the current fiscal year,” he said, adding that the revenue collection in the first three months of the current fiscal year was Rs 17.33 billion against the target of Rs 23.63 billion. ”
According to the Birgunj Customs Office, Rs 18.44 billion was collected in the month of July, Rs 20.73 billion in August, Rs 19.09 billion in October and Rs 17.33 billion in October.
