Kathmandu. The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has approved the hearing of the proposed three judges of the Supreme Court and members of the Judicial Council. The committee’s meeting today approved the names of senior advocate Meghraj Pokharel, Chief Justice of Janakpur High Court Shrikant Poudel and Chief Justice of Dipayal High Court Shanti Singh Thapa.

The committee also approved the name of Mahesh Kumar Nepal as a member of the Judicial Council. The committee unanimously approved their names after discussing the concept and thinking of the proposed judges and members and the complaints received.

Earlier, the committee had suggested Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia to focus on making appointments to judges and constitutional bodies inclusive. On the occasion, Minister Chaurasia pledged to implement the suggestions taken by the parliament to make appointments to the courts and constitutional bodies inclusive.
