PM Oli briefs Parliament on Visit to Spain

Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli briefed the Parliament about Nepal’s participation and achievements in the 4th International Conference on ‘Finance for Development’ held in Sevilla, Spain.

Taking time in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Oli said that the conference has contributed to further accelerating the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals by increasing new partnership at the global level for economic diplomacy.

Prior to the conference, PRIME Minister Oli had informed the House of Representatives meeting on June 14 about the agenda of the conference and the visit. Prime Minister Oli had left for Kathmandu on July 14 for the summit and returned home on July 14.

Leading the conference on behalf of the least developed countries, PM Oli said that during his address, he advocated for the just and socio-economic development of these countries. Prime Minister Oli expressed the hope that nepal would get world-class support and cooperation in upgrading themselves through the implementation of the SEVIA commitments.

Prime Minister Oli briefed the House about his leadership and advocacy commitments at various silid talks and roundtable conferences, addressing the Meeting of the Group of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) on the sidelines of the conference.

Among the 44 least developed countries, Nepal has shown that it has been able to lead effectively in front of those countries on the occasion of the summit, he said.

Addressing a gathering of civil society a day before the conference, PRIME Minister Oli had called for a cautious role of a strong civil society. Pm Oli said That Nepal has adopted democratic and liberal arrangements for civil society.

On the sidelines of the conference, Prime Minister Oli and His Spanish counterpart Podro Sánchez had a bilateral meeting.
