Gulmi. The Ridi-Wamitaksar road in Gulmi has been obstructed due to incessant rain. Information Officer at the District Police Office, Ganga Bahadur Saru, said that the road section has been completely blocked since this morning due to flooding in Dahare rivulet at Satyawati rural municipality-6.

Vehicular movement from Dahare to Burtiwang of Baglung via Ridi has come to a halt as the road has been completely blocked due to flooding. A police team has been mobilized from Johang Khaireni to operate the road, but it is raining and the rain has not stopped, making the road difficult, said Pranau Saru. A car was washed away by the river three days ago.

Similarly, the Ridi-Khanjyang road has also been obstructed due to dry landslide. The road has been completely blocked due to landslide at Sankhar of Rurukshetra Rural Municipality-1. The water level in Kaligandaki and Badigad rivulets has also increased due to rain.

The District Administration Office has urged the people living in the coastal areas to remain alert and stay in safe places during the rainy season. According to the District Disaster Management Committee, more than 200 places in Gulmi are at high risk of floods and landslides.
