Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has registered a corruption case against 12 people, including the then chief administrative officer of Soru rural municipality in Mugu.
On Sunday, the CIAA filed a case against 12 people at the Special Court. Chief Administrative Officer Birendra Malla, Engineer Prakash Acharya, Sub-Engineer Jagat Bahadur Malla, Accountant Jetha Bahadur Budha, Planning Section Chief Nabin Bumi, Jawaldhara PCC Road Construction Project Users Committee Chairman Chakra Bahadur Chhatyal, Co-Coordinator Bishnu Chhatyal, Treasurer Ghogisara Shahi and Secretary Mukunda Damai have been accused in the corruption case.
A corruption case has been filed against road monitoring committee coordinator Dalbir Sarki, member Pune Shahi and the then ward chair of rural municipality-1, Misindra Shahi.
Ciaa spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel said a case has been registered on the charge of corruption in the PCC road construction project at rural municipality-1 in 2077/78 BS.
According to him, the CIAA has alleged that he took an additional Rs 706,799 more by signing the agreement for Rs 4 million 13 thousand 439. The CIAA has claimed that they have demanded more money than the agreement.
