71 pounds of blood sent from Jhapa due to shortage of blood in Kathmandu

Jhapa. Nepal Red Cross Society, Jhapa branch has sent 71 pounds of blood to Kathmandu Valley following acute shortage of blood.

Nepal Red Cross Society, Jhapa branch president Lokraj Dhakal said that the blood was sent by a flight of Buddha Air at 7.15 am today.

President Dhakal said that blood was sent to Kathmandu from Jhapa to avoid shortage of blood for the treatment of those injured during the agitation organized by the ‘Genji’ generation in Kathmandu on Monday.

The Genji generation had also protested in Jhapa on Monday. Some youths were injured in the incident. The District Administration Office had imposed prohibitory order in Damak and Birtamod from last night till 5:00 am today. Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari informed that the prohibitory order was lifted this morning.
