Mustang. Dozens of containers have reached Nepal-China North Korala border point for the supply of Chinese goods. Dozens of containers of traders have reached the Mustang customs office at Korala border point after the Department of Customs activated the Mustang Customs Office at Korala transit point.

The customs department has made all the arrangements from the border point here. The Department of Customs has brought the transit point into operation as an alternative route after floods and landslides triggered by floods at Rasuwagadhi transit point and Tatopani transit point in the third week of July had obstructed the transportation of Chinese goods.

Chief of Customs Office Ramesh Khadka said that although the border point has been used as an alternative route for the time-being, there will be no problem in importing goods from China through this transit point. Khadka said that the Department has already entered the online system of the office for the import of goods at the border point and preparations are being made to make financial payment from Prabhu Bank for the collection of customs revenue at Lomanthang soon.

Khadka said that the goods of the imported containers would be sent after passing the Chinese customs check at the border point. On Monday, he said that the goods of two containers that had passed the inspection at the Chinese customs have been done. According to him, the goods brought by the traders are in Lhasa and other places and they are in the process of being brought to the Chinese customs.

More than 500 DYT EV vehicles along with dozens of cargo containers have reached Korala via Beni-Jomsom-Korala road to transport clothes, cosmetics and electronic goods. Lopsang Chhomphel Bista, chairperson of Loghekar Damodar Kunda Rural Municipality, said that the containers were loaded and loaded into the Chinese territory. He said more than 100 containers were waiting to transport Chinese goods.
