5 arrested for stealing optical fibre wire

Bhadrapur. Police have arrested five persons on the charge of being smuggled five sacks of optical fibre telephone wires to India from Nakalbanda of Mechinagar municipality-5 in the district.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of District Police Office, Jhapa, a patrol team from the Area Police Office, Nakalbanda arrested them on suspicion that they were transporting the wires.

The arrestees have been identified as Kartik Adhikari (24) and Rahul Adhikari (34) of Panitang in Darjeeling, India, Bijaya Rajbanshi (25) of Buddhashanti Rural Municipality, Jhapa, Dinesh Pariyar (27) of Jaubari in Mai Municipality-3 and Sanjay Majhi (42) of Dangibari in Kachankabal Rural Municipality-3 of Jhapa district. Further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
