Jumla. More than 4,000 small and cottage industries have been registered in Jumla.
According to the Office for Protection of Industry and Consumer Interest, 4,286 industries of various types have been registered since the last fiscal year. Of them, 825 industries have been scrapped.
Office Chief Mandir Nath Yogi said there are only 4,461 industries except the industries that have been scrapped. According to him, 3,000 industries worth more than Rs 1 million have been registered at the Consumer Welfare Protection Office and 204 new small industries worth less than Rs 300,000 have been registered at the local level.
Among the industries registered, the industries are production-oriented, agriculture, forest-oriented, service-oriented, tourism, construction and information and communication technology, said Yogi. According to him, revenue of Rs 52 lakh was collected from these industries in the last fiscal year.
The Office has said that it provided various skill-oriented training to two hundred and four people of all eight local levels in the last fiscal year. Most of the industries registered in the district are limited to paper.
