Kathmandu. The commission formed to investigate the issues related to the Genji agitation on September 7 and 24 has written to the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to record his statement.

NHRC Chairperson Gauri Bahadur Karki said that they have written to the then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak to summon the then Prime Minister Oli to record his statement.

The EC has issued a letter to the EC at a time when CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister Oli has been questioning the legal status and fairness of the EC and not going to the EC to give statement.

He said that they were working to submit the report to the commission within the extended deadline.

The term of the three-member commission formed by a cabinet meeting on September 20 has been extended till January 18.
