Kathmandu. Roshan Kumar Neupane, former chief executive officer (CEO) of NIC Asia Bank, has left the banking sector and entered the hotel industry. Neupane has joined the five-star hotel ‘Marriott Resort and Spa’ under Lumbini Palace Resort Limited located in Siyari Rural Municipality-5 of Rupandehi.

v. No. Lumbini Palace Resort, which came into operation since 2075 BS, has been making a profit for the past three years. The resort will be operated as ‘Marriott Resort and Spa’ under the world-renowned hotel brand ‘Marriott International’ with the objective of upgrading its service to the international level. According to the hotel, this will be the first and only presence of the Marriott brand outside the Kathmandu Valley.

The agreement was signed with Marriott International under the leadership of Resort Chairman Deepak Pandey and with the participation of Managing Director Neupane, Board of Directors and top management team. The signing ceremony was attended by Marriott International’s Chief Operating Officer, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific and other senior officials.

The company aims to get permission to operate five-star hotels by the end of the current fiscal year. Once the hotel is fully operational, it will be established as Nepal’s first and only international level luxury resort.

The resort will have state-of-the-art luxury rooms and suites, spa and wellness center, international standard conference and event hall, swimming pool, fitness centre, recreational and child-friendly facilities, excellent restaurant and bar.

Additionally, it is planned to develop the hotel as Nepal’s first green certified luxury resort prioritizing climate change, sustainable development, energy conservation and environmental conservation. Under this, environment-friendly structures, use of renewable energy, low pollution and sustainable tourism practices will be fully adopted.

Similarly, Lumbini Palace Resort Limited is preparing to issue initial public offering (IPO) to the general public in the coming days.
