Kathmandu. Contractors and suppliers have been blacklisted for negligence in public procurement process and violation of contract. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has blacklisted 20 contractors and suppliers.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers decided to blacklist them as per Clause 63 of the Public Procurement Act, 2063 based on the recommendation of various public bodies.

According to the decision taken on Sunday, 18 construction companies have been blacklisted for one year while two companies have been blacklisted for three years. Contractors and suppliers who are blacklisted will not be allowed to take part in the procurement process of any public agency during the stipulated period.

Among the blacklisted companies are Ganesh Nirman Sewa of Those-5, Ramechhap. The main person of the blacklisted company is Tek Bahadur Karki. Likewise, the second company to be blacklisted is Kishor and Nabin Company and Suppliers of Bhirkot-7, Dolakha. The main person of this company is Basanta Thapa.
