Kathmandu. The Rupandehi District Court has made it clear that the government will not take a decision on the government’s application to amend the charge sheet filed against Rabi Lamichhane. As the writ petition is sub-judice at the Supreme Court, the court has ordered to proceed with the hearing only after it is finalized.

The District Government Attorney’s Office had filed a writ petition demanding withdrawal of the cases of organized crime and money laundering against Lamichhane and other defendants. However, after a writ petition was filed at the Supreme Court against the approval, the district court said it would not take immediate decision.

According to Krishna Prasad Poudel, Tehsildar of the Supreme Court, the district court will decide whether to withdraw the case or not only after the final verdict on the interim order is received from the Supreme Court. He clarified that the case has not been withdrawn but the matter is under consideration.

A single bench of Justice Shyam Lal Ghimire on January 6 had ordered not to move ahead with the writ petition until the final settlement of the writ petition. The court also refuted some of the reports that came later, saying that they were misleading.
