Bangladesh PM wishes success in March 21 election

. Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has wished for the successful completion of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 4.

In a meeting with Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Balananda Sharma on Tuesday evening, the Nepali Embassy in Dhaka said the Prime Minister of Bangladesh extended best wishes for the success of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Nepal.TAG_OPEN_div_31

On the occasion, Minister Sharma extended hearty congratulations to the newly elected Prime Minister of Bangladesh and handed over a congratulatory message sent by Prime Minister Sushila Karki.TAG_OPEN_div_29

In the message, Prime Minister Karki congratulated Prime Minister Rahman and expressed his desire to work with him for the common interest of both countries and peoples with a spirit of mutual respect, common commitment and partnership.TAG_OPEN_div_27

On the occasion, Foreign Minister Sharma commended the Government of Bangladesh for successfully conducting elections and ensuring smooth transition to democratic process.TAG_OPEN_div_25

Prime TAG_OPEN_div_23 Minister Rahman thanked Minister Sharma for attending the swearing-in ceremony and said the visit reflected the goodwill and unity shown by the government and people of Bangladesh to the government and people.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Sharma attended the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minister and members of the Council of Ministers of Bangladesh.TAG_OPEN_div_19 He also met Shafiqur Rahman, the leader of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed major areas of bilateral cooperation.
