Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Affairs, which has been intensifying market monitoring, has imposed a cash fine on a firm. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11, Trauma Centre’s Sunil Canteen has been fined Rs 5,000 after he was found coughing in course of field monitoring.

Similarly, the department has asked Healthy Bite Services Pvt Ltd, Chabahil to present the business related documents within three days. The department has issued corrective directives to 11 more firms.

The Department has been regularly monitoring the market and implementing the law in the presence of local stakeholders, consumer rights activists and stakeholders.
