Kathmandu. The Department of Passport has decided to continue its service on public holidays as well. Issuing a public notice, the Department said it would remain open for works including distribution of passport although it is a public holiday today and tomorrow.

The government has declared a public holiday today on the occasion of Gyalpo Lhosar and tomorrow on the occasion of Democracy Day. The department will be open from 10 am to 1 pm on both days.

The department said it would provide passport distribution service today. Similarly, the application form for passport will be collected on Thursday. The Department has clarified that the office will remain open even on public holidays as it is an essential service.
