Bhojpur. The Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality has initiated action against the contractors for not completing the construction works as per the contract agreement.
Action has been taken against the construction company for delaying the construction of the 15-bed Kot Hospital that started the fiscal year 2077/78 BS.
Issuing a public notice, the rural municipality has directed the construction company, Bhumi Himalayan JV Biratnagar, to come in contact with the construction company within seven days with necessary clarification. It has been clarified that action would be taken unilaterally as per the prevailing Acts, Regulations and Agreements if the Tigers did not come into contact within the stipulated time.
It is stated that action has been initiated against the construction company concerned for not completing the work on time, leaving the construction site in limbo and not coming into contact despite repeated reminders.
The rural municipality has said that action can be forwarded as per the Public Procurement Act-2063, Public Procurement Regulations-2064 and the terms and conditions made in the agreement. According to the legal provisions, the contract may be annulled, the deposit can be confiscated or other administrative action may be taken.
Locals have been complaining that expansion of health service has been delayed due to delay in the construction of the project.
The delay in the construction of the hospital building has resulted in the service seekers not getting the required health facilities on time. Saroj Basnet, chairperson of the rural municipality, said that the local level was committed to completing the public development works on time and strictly against such irresponsible behaviour.
