Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Walendra Shah has said that the budget for the coming fiscal year will be balanced.
During a meeting with federal lawmakers of Karnali state at the Office of the Prime Minister at Singha Durbar on Monday, he assured that the budget would address Karnali province judiciously. “Karnali will be justly addressed in the upcoming budget and the budget will be balanced,” said lawmaker from Salyan constituency-1, Ramesh Malla, who was present in the discussion. On the occasion, PM Shah said the government would focus on governance reforms this year.
Lawmaker Malla said the discussion with the Prime Minister was focused on the budget of the coming fiscal year 2083/84 BS. The lawmakers taking part in the discussion drew the attention of the PM towards giving first priority to Karnali in upcoming budget, governance reforms and construction of physical infrastructures in the province.
“We have talked with the Prime Minister about post-earthquake relief and reconstruction in Jajarkot, preparedness for monsoon, various road corridors including Karnali, Bheri and Rapti, highway corridors including Mid-hills, Madan Bhandari and Lumbini-Rara, road infrastructures, health insurance, maternal and child nutrition, research on petroleum mines in Dailekh, management of wildlife risks, as well as communications, electricity, drinking water, irrigation, agriculture, forest, tourism and education,” Malla said.
