Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection (DoM), which has been regularly monitoring and monitoring the market and enforcing the law, has fined two firms.

The department has slapped Rs 10 fine each on Machhindranath Grocery Store in Dilli Bazaar and Allen Store at the same place after they found negligence in course of on-site monitoring. The Department clarified that the firms were fined for not complying with Section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.

The Department carried out on-site monitoring of 21 firms today and issued corrective directives to 19. The Department has been regularly monitoring in the presence of representatives of local stakeholders and consumer rights activists.
