Ministers taught on ‘Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Code of Conduct’

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has imparted a course on ‘Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Code of Conduct’ to all the ministers of the government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amrit Bahadur Rai, taught to all the ministers at a programme organized at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

Secretary Rai informed the meeting about the international context, Nepal’s international relations, promotion of national interests and Nepal’s overall foreign policy. He briefed him in a subtle manner on the procedures, limitations and diplomatic decorum to be adopted while conducting the foreign policy.

He laid special emphasis on priorities of Nepal’s foreign policy, balance in relations and technical aspects of diplomatic code of conduct. The ministers also presented the issues ranging from general etiquette to mandatory diplomatic code of conduct to be followed during the meetings with the foreign officials.
