Kathmandu. The 27th Plants Day is being marked across the country today with the slogan ‘Plants for Prosperity’.

The Department of Botany is also marking its 66th anniversary today in the presence of Minister for Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary. On this occasion

According to the Department, interactions, exhibitions and felicitation programmes related to the conservation of medicinal herbs, research, promotion and commercialization would be organized.

Likewise, tree plantation, awareness raising programmes, herbal exhibition and farmers’ orientation programmes would be held in different parts of the country.

The Plant Day emphasizes the conservation of biodiversity, promotion of greenery and development of a herbal based economy.
