Kathmandu. The government has formed a commission of inquiry into the assets of the chief political officials and high-ranking officials who held public posts from 2062/63 BS to 2082/83 BS.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today formed a four-member commission under the convenorship of former judge of the Supreme Court, Rajendra Kumar Bhandari.

The other members of the commission are former judges Chandiraj Dhakal and Purushottam Parajuli, former Deputy Inspector General of Police Ganesh KC and chartered accountant Prakash Lamsal.

After the formation of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Balendra Shah on March 27, the government had decided to form the committee within 15 days. This has been mentioned in the 43rd point of the 100 agendas related to governance reforms made public by the government.

The bill states that a high-powered property investigation committee under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers would be formed within 15 days to end corruption, hidden assets and impunity prevalent in the country.

। It states that the investigation process would be conducted in an impartial and legal standard based on legal standards, evidence, and the report and recommendations submitted by the commission would be implemented through the bodies concerned.
