Govt pledges to increase 8 per cent budget to health sector in five years

. The government has pledged to increase the budget share of health sector to eight per cent by 2088 BS.

The government has announced a national commitment to increase eight percent of the budget to the health sector within five years.TAG_OPEN_div_46 According to the standards of the World Health Organization, 10 percent of the total budget should be allocated to the health sector.

TAG_OPEN_div_44 The commitment states that the health insurance program will be expanded in a more robust model with quality and accessibility to every citizen. A “One Citizen, One Digital Health Profile” would be implemented and social security programmes would be integrated into the dispersed health facilities and subsidies.

Similarly, a state-of-the-art disability rehabilitation specialized resource center will be established in each province to ensure integrated health services.TAG_OPEN_div_42

Free treatment for burn victims

The government will provide free and quality treatment and mental health services to the victims of burns.TAG_OPEN_div_39

The commitment states that basic health services would be provided to the doorsteps of senior citizens and people with disabilities, an integrated model would be implemented by setting minimum standards in basic health for the improvement of the overall health system, health infrastructure at the federal, provincial and local levels would be restructured to determine the classification and quality of health workers, equipment, buildings and services.TAG_OPEN_div_37 Access to health services will be given special priority in rural and remote areas.

Doctor at Primary Health Center

As per the commitment, at least TAG_OPEN_div_33 one MDPG doctor, nurse, laboratory and pharmacy will be provided at the primary health care center.

Similarly, the policy of providing free health care to the poor, laborers, farmers, people with disabilities and free health care to those working in compulsory labor will be implemented.TAG_OPEN_div_31

} The mega campaign ‘I am healthy, my family is healthy’ will be launched by encouraging healthy climate, environment and active lifestyle, not cure, but treatment.

Ayurveda, naturopathy and yoga meditation will be combined in health services and ‘wellness zones’ and yoga laboratories will be constructed in major tourist areas and yoga, meditation and yoga tourism will be included in the curriculum.TAG_OPEN_div_27

This commitment will be included in the annual policy and programme, budget and reform agenda for the next fiscal year 208 TAG_OPEN_div_25 3/84 and beyond.
