Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has come up with a new work strategy to speed up service delivery and make it more effective.
According to the provision implemented for the employees of the Ministry and all the bodies under it, any file or work should be compulsorily completed within the same day, as far as possible, after reaching the employee’s desk or system.
Joint-Secretary at the Ministry, Subash Chandra Shiwakoti, said that the provision has been introduced to motivate the employees to fulfill their responsibilities quickly, fully and in quality.
According to the new rule, the concerned employee should immediately inform his or her higher level if the work cannot be completed within the stipulated time. In addition, the employee initiating any letter or decision process will have to take the responsibility of monitoring it till the end and keeping a report of the progress.
According to the Ministry, a commitment letter will be signed with all the employees for the effective implementation of the policy and the responsibility of ensuring its implementation has been given to the head of the office.
According to the ministry, this step is expected to maintain discipline among the employees and bring a positive change in the working style. It is believed that the service recipients will get fast, easy and effective service.
The Ministry aims to develop this practice as a long-term work culture by expanding this practice to all its subordinate bodies. Likewise, the subordinate offices have been directed to make economical and effective use of resources.
