Kathmandu. The decision taken by the cabinet meeting held today has been made public.
Government spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Youth and Sports Sasmit Pokharel made public the decisions taken by today’s meeting.
A commission led by former Supreme Court judge Rajendra Kumar Bhandari comprises former judge Purushottam Parajuli, former judge Chandiraj Dhakal, former Sub Inspector of Police Ganesh KC and chartered accountant Prakash Lamsal as members.
Deputy Director General, Director General and Section Officer of the Inland Revenue Department, Chief Tax Administrator, Chief Tax Officer and Tax Officer of Large Taxpayers Office and Medium Level Taxpayers Office, Chief Tax Officer and Tax Officer of Inland Revenue Office and Chief Fund Controller or Fund Controller of 52 Treasury and Financial Comptroller Offices will be designated as Excise Duty Officer looking after the specified areas.
The meeting also decided to approve the Financial Procedures and Financial Responsibility (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2082.
The government has decided to provide grant assistance of Swiss franc 1 million from the Swiss government to the Investigation and Truth and Reconciliation Fund for Enforced Disappeared Persons.
The meeting also decided to submit to the House of Representatives for information about the mutual legal assistance agreement signed between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the Republic of India signed on February 19, 2082 and accepted by the Government of Nepal.
The meeting also decided to approve the National Standards on Organization and Management Survey 2082 and form a committee under the coordination of former High Court judge Prem Raj Karki to study the case of security mechanism and recommend for the implementation of the report submitted by the commission formed to investigate the incident that took place on September 7 and 24, 2002.
