Four arrested with raw bananas worth Rs 11.25 lakh

Sunsari. Police have arrested four persons in possession of raw bananas worth Rs 1.1 million from Bhutaha Bazaar of Harinagar rural municipality-4 in Sunsari district on Friday.

The arrestees have been identified as driver Prahlad Dahal, 22, of Ratuwamai Rural Municipality-8, Gyan Bahadur Bhattarai, 24, of Morang Urlabari Municipality-8, Seraj Miya, 27, of Bhokra Hanasingh Rural Municipality-2 in Sunsari and Rameshwor Das, 60, of Koshi Rural Municipality-8, according to District Police Office, Sunsari’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Keshab Kumar Thebe.TAG_OPEN_div_10 ।

Acting on a tip-off, a police team arrested a pickup truck (Pra 1-02-002 Cha 7449 and Pra 1-01-002 Cha 1801) en route to Inaruwa from Ghuski and seized it with raw banana, he said.TAG_OPEN_div_8

According to the District Police Office, Rs 11.TAG_OPEN_div_6 20 lakh has been assessed. The seized bananas and vehicles have been handed over to the Setubandha Koshi Barrage at Sunsari Customs Office for necessary action, police said.
